IN SUPPORT of  Raised H.B. No. 5299 AN ACT ELIMINATING THE REQUIREMENT THAT VENDORS KEEP A RECORD OF PISTOL AND REVOLVER SALES.

This bill eliminates a requirement that the vendor of any pistol or revolver keep a record of each pistol or revolver sold in a state required book kept for such purpose. Such documentation is kept by other requirements that State Police forms be maintained and the requirement for a federal “bound book.” This provision was submitted by the State Police for repeal last year, with no opposition, but inadvertently left out of the compromise gun bill.
